# Job Change Tracker

Stay Connected as Your Advocates Grow Their Careers

Your strongest customer advocates do not stay in the same roles forever. They get promoted, move to new companies, and reach important career milestones. These changes can create valuable opportunities to reconnect, celebrate their success, and continue building the relationship.

SlapFive’s Job Change Tracker (JCT) automatically monitors these changes so your team can stay informed without manually checking LinkedIn profiles.

### Job Change Tracker Overview

Once a week, Job Change Tracker reviews the public LinkedIn profiles of eligible active members and compares their current information with what was previously recorded in SlapFive.

It looks for three types of meaningful changes:

Job Changes → Identifies when an advocate has moved to a new company.

Promotions and Title Changes → Recognizes promotions and other meaningful changes in role or responsibility at the same company.

Work Anniversaries → Flags upcoming work anniversaries so your team has an opportunity to recognize important milestones.

When a change is identified, Job Change Tracker adds it to the appropriate campaign, updates the relevant LinkedIn information in SlapFive, and includes it in a weekly summary for your team.

### How Job Change Tracker Supports Your Program

Your customer relationships can extend far beyond a single company or role. An advocate who moves to a new organization may become a future champion, buyer, referral source, or advocate in their new role.

Job Change Tracker helps your team turn these career moments into opportunities to:

* Maintain relationships with advocates as their careers evolve
* Congratulate customers on promotions and milestones
* Identify advocates who have moved to new organizations
* Keep customer and advocate data current
* Create natural, timely reasons to reconnect
* Reduce the manual effort of monitoring LinkedIn for changes

Instead of discovering a job change months later, your team has the information it needs to engage at the right moment.

### How Job Changes Are Identified

#### 1. SlapFive Checks Eligible Members

Each week, Job Change Tracker checks members who are:

* Active
* Have a Member status
* Have a LinkedIn URL associated with their SlapFive member record

For members being checked for the first time, SlapFive establishes a baseline by recording their current company, title, and company LinkedIn page. No change is reported during this initial check.

#### 2. Job Changes Are Identified

SlapFive compares the member’s current LinkedIn company with the company previously recorded.

The system accounts for minor naming differences, such as abbreviations, capitalization, punctuation, and common company suffixes, to avoid incorrectly reporting a change.

When the information requires additional interpretation, AI evaluates the available profile information to determine whether the member has truly changed employers or whether the difference is related to something like a rebrand, subsidiary, or alternate company page.

Confirmed job changes are added to the Job Change Tracker campaign and included in the weekly summary.

#### 3. Promotions and Title Changes Are Identified

If the member is still at the same company, Job Change Tracker compares their current title with the title previously recorded.

Minor variations that mean the same thing, such as "VP" and "Vice President," are not considered changes.

For meaningful differences, AI helps determine whether the change represents a:

* Promotion
* Lateral move
* Demotion

Confirmed changes are recorded in SlapFive and surfaced in the weekly summary.

#### 4. Upcoming Work Anniversaries Are Flagged

For members who remain at the same company, Job Change Tracker also looks at their current role start date.

When an eligible work anniversary falls within the upcoming tracking window, it is included in the weekly summary along with the company, anniversary date, and number of years.

First-year anniversaries are not reported.

### Your Weekly Job Change Summary

After each weekly run, your advocacy team receives one consolidated email with an overview of what Job Change Tracker found.

The summary organizes updates into five categories:

* Anniversaries: Upcoming work anniversaries worth celebrating.
* Job Changers: Advocates who have moved to a new company.
* Promotions: Advocates who have moved into a more senior role.
* Other Title Changes: Lateral moves and other meaningful role changes.
* Needs Review: Profiles where SlapFive could not confidently determine what changed.

Each entry links directly to the member in SlapFive, making it easy to review the change and decide on the appropriate next step.

You will receive the summary even when no changes are detected, so you always know the weekly check was completed.

### When a Change Needs Review

Job Change Tracker is designed to prioritize accuracy over automatically making a change when the information is unclear.

A member may be placed in Needs Review when:

* Their previous role still appears active on LinkedIn
* LinkedIn does not provide enough information to identify a current role
* The system cannot confidently determine whether a company or title change represents a meaningful career move

In these cases, no changes are made to the member’s SlapFive record. Your team can review the profile and determine whether the LinkedIn URL, profile information, or member record needs to be updated.

### From Career Change to Customer Opportunity

Job Change Tracker gives your team more than updated data. It gives you timely reasons to engage.

Whether an advocate earns a promotion, celebrates an anniversary, or moves to a new company, SlapFive helps you identify the moment so you can decide how to act on it.

The result is a more current advocate network, stronger long-term relationships, and more opportunities to keep your best customers connected to your brand wherever their careers take them.
